Women’s Artmaking Retreat with Kate Ransohoff and Carol Greenberger
“Inside each of us there sits a most handsome creative seed-bud waiting to be called upon to grow… because the life source of this seed-bud, here named Charley, is outside the confines of our lives, we are often not sure what to do with the itching and jiggling that Charley keeps popping loose inside us. Charley will challenge and cry out – again and again – demanding to be set free. One day we will listen and become curious. On that day a practice – a practice celebrating Charley’s freedom – can begin.”
Elijah’s Palace by Kate Ransohoff , a wonderfully inspiring book on creativity and making a place for Artmaking in one’s life.

Kate Ransohoff, artist, author, and creator of Quilt: Art to Mend the World, is truly a midwife of creativity. If you have any desire at all, to do creative works, whether it be visual art, writing or a mixture, Kate will lead you through a process to help you reach your next step.
We will gather friday to connect, share our visions, talk with Kate and make plans for our weekend. Saturday and Sunday will be full days of Artmaking at a nearby studio space.
For many of us artmaking can be a solitary activity, but it doesn’t need to be. The group will be limited to seven women to allow for a lot of individual attention.

Carol Greenberger, M.A., Licensed Professional Counselor, will be assisting Kate. As an artist and a psychotherapist, she has led groups of all kinds. Carol has been in private practice for 18 years and is now practicing at The Relationship Center in Asheville. “I have painted for many years and whenever I have had the opportunity to work with Kate I have burst open to a new place with my painting. I always leave feeling inspired and ready to forge ahead in my work, or as Kate likes to say, my play. I have shared my inspiration for healing through creative work with many clients and am always heartened to see what happens when my clients tap their creative well.” After this retreat a group will be form of those interested in making art together once a month with Carol.
